Announcing the So Every BODY Can Move: Vision Council

The SEBCM Vision Council is a strategic alliance of partners providing advisement and investment into So Every BODY Can Move’s sustainability and future growth.

This team will help guide the initiative’s efforts to drive legislative changes that ensure equitable, life-changing access to prosthetic and orthotic care across the nation.

This purpose-driven council brings together bold, visionary leaders who are helping shape what’s possible in healthcare, O&P access, and disability rights. Their strategic support helps fuel SEBCM’s mission to ensure every person—regardless of zip code or insurance plan—can access the mobility devices and care they need to live, move, and thrive.

The Vision Council is launching with this extraordinary inaugural group of partners, and over the coming months, we will welcome additional organizations to join the council whose values align with SEBCM’s mission and vision to revolutionize equitable O&P access.

The Vision Council is an integral part of the So Every BODY Can Move movement, working alongside our steering committee, national leads, advisors, state leads, state core teams, and volunteers across the country to push for systems change and legislative reform.

Council members aren’t just supporters—they are co-architects of a more inclusive future—one that supports our advocates, clinicians, manufacturers, and policymakers in building lasting access for the limb loss and limb difference community.

“Our Vision Council embodies the spirit of So Every BODY Can Move. These leaders believe movement is medicine, act with urgency, and always keep the disability community at the heart of their work. They don’t just see the system as it is – they envision what it can become. I’m deeply grateful for their vision, their courage, and the energy they bring to this movement. Because of them, we are more united, more determined, and one step closer to a world where every BODY can truly move.”

— Nicole Ver Kuilen, Campaign Lead, SEBCM

“I’m incredibly excited to work alongside these leaders who share our vision for lasting change. Their passion, expertise, and commitment to systems-level change will help ensure the disability community gets the care and mobility devices they need to thrive – without having to fight for the support they need. They bring invaluable energy and insight to our extraordinary network of advocates, advisors, and partners, and together create the change we need.”

— Kyle Stepp, Strategic Partnerships Lead, SEBCM

SEBCM Steering Committee

The So Every BODY Can Move Steering Committee is made up of our four founding partners:

  • Amputee Coalition (SEBCM’s backbone organization)
  • American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA)
  • National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics (NAAOP)
  • American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP)

The Steering Committee provides high-level strategic guidance, critical support, and fiduciary oversight to ensure the long-term success of the SEBCM movement. While they anchor our organizational direction, the Vision Council brings additional leadership and industry expertise to help expand and amplify SEBCM’s reach and impact.

About So Every BODY Can Move

So Every BODY Can Move (SEBCM) is a national disability rights and healthcare initiative working to create life-changing access to prosthetic and orthotic (O&P) care for physical activity, independence, and overall well-being. Today, this care is often denied coverage—deemed “not medically necessary” by most public and private insurance plans—even when it enables people to work, play, and thrive.

Founded and led by people with disabilities, SEBCM centers the leadership of those with lived experience of limb loss and limb difference (LL/LD community). Across the country, grassroots advocates are organizing with support from O&P and allied health professionals to modernize outdated insurance policies through state-by-state legislative reform.

SEBCM’s flagship effort—the “28×28” campaign—aims to pass legislation in 28 states by the LA 2028 Paralympic Games, building toward broader national reform and a future where movement is a right, not a privilege.

SEBCM’s founding was made possible by a coalition of national leaders in the field, including the Amputee Coalition, American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA), National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics & Prosthetics (NAAOP), and American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP).
